Another great way to read entries as soon as they are posted is to use an “RSS feed.” RSS is easily recognizable by this orange icon:
. For a short video tutorial on what RSS is and how it works, take a look at RSS in plain English.
Our RSS feed: http://feeds.feedburner.com/FunScienceStuff; you can subscribe to it in a browser, or by using an RSS reader.
If you’re using Firefox, Safari, or Internet Explorer 7, you can subscribe to an RSS feed in your browser. Click on the orange icon displayed in your toolbar while you’re visiting a blog, and follow the instructions.
You can also use an RSS reader, which works just like an inbox for blog posts. A web-based reader lets you read your feeds from any computer, or you can download a reader onto your computer. Below you’ll find a list of RSS readers, most are free.
After signing up or downloading a reader it’s easy to subscribe to get updates from your favorite blogs. Simply, go to the blog’s homepage, click on the link for the RSS feed, choose your reader, and subscribe.
