Melissa Chapman is a 34-year-old New York City writer, editor and columnist who has over ten years experience writing, editing and researching articles on parenting and pop culture.

When she’s not busy chauffeuring her seven-year-old daughter and three -year-old son to hip hop and karate classes-making pb&j sandwiches (with the crusts cut off) and searching for the pesky covers to her son’s sippy cups, she’s on the prowl for activities and products that are fun, have at least some educational value and can entice them away from the powerful allure of Spongebob Square Pants!

She also writes Kids in the City, a weekly column for The Staten Island Advance, is the family channel editor for Single Minded Women, a contributing writer for ivillage.com’s pregnancy and parenting channel, and is a contributing blogger at NYC Mom’s Blog.
