Finally…Your Child Can Sound Like the Alien he Longs to be!

by Melissa Chapman on August 25, 2008

If you’ve got a three year-old son who, like my boy is deeply fascinated by robots, aliens and superheroes and spends hours engaging his action figures in imaginative scenarios, then you’ll understand why he literally flipped his lid when he opened the electronic voice transformer package.

Unlike his inanimate action figures and robots, which I carelessly trip over no matter how fastidiously I clean them up, this electronic voice transformer gives my son the opportunity to carry out his outer space and alien fantasies with the sound of a real alien voice. Instead of transferring his fantasies over to his action figures with this handy lightweight megaphone-like gadget he can speak and hear his voice transformed into a very cool alien-like tenor.

But before you think this is a gadget that will only appeal to three years-olds fortunately I can assure you that is hardly the case. This bull-horn’s cool, transparent exterior allows older kids (and their parents) to get a bird’s eye view of all the wiring, and the mechanics that operate this voice machine. In that respect, this voice transformer can also be a gateway to discussions about just how those tiny wires can produce such a booming robot-like voice. For that info, you’ll need to check out one of our sister science sites!

So here’s my breakdown…

Age Appeal: Three years and older.

Gender Appeal: Both!

Cost: At just $9.95 it’s a steal…really!

Time required to assemble: Just break open the packaging—easily the hardest part-press down on the trigger and begin speaking in your best alien voice.

Best features: Its clear exterior give kids a sneak peek into the science of how things work—and of course, those kids who dream about robots and aliens, can now pretend they are.

Worst features: Your little ones will never want to put this electronic voice transformer down; just stock up on lots of 9V batteries.

You can get it here right now.
